Meet May, the Storyteller

Hi there! My name is May and I am the Storyteller in this blog.

I once went by as Fully Housewifed, but I decided to work on personal writing projects in 2025, so I changed my name to Storyteller, because that’s really want I want to be as a writer.

I thought that maybe if I make it official, I’d finally be able to start doing it!

My husband, Jay, serves as Music Director and Producer for the Kids Ministry in our church. Basically, it means he creates music, produces them, does some multi-media work, take care of logistics and all that stuff for the Kids and Pre-teens services, and our global community through Kids Church Online. He was a Music major in College so he is doing what he does best!

I was a professional performer for many years, having dabbled in musical theater, recording, and singing in metro bars and hotel lounges. I met my husband in the early 2000s, when our former manager merged our bands to form a new group. We did music together for many years until we decided that we liked being a family, and to be able to do that, the best thing to do was to hang our instruments and call it a good run.

We still do music together, just not in the same capacity as our roads have diverged in that particular.

I wrote professionally for over 15 years and have published works in several publications, such as Smart Parenting, Working Mom, Spiff, and have done SEO writing for marketing companies such as Spiralytics in Manila, Choc Chip Digital and Dangerously fit Elite in Australia.

Would you be surprised if I told you that I’ve also written a handful of books as a ghost writer? Well, I did. It wasn’t fun when you don’t get credit for your hard work and skill, but it helped pay the bills when they were due.

I still do the freelance thing. My job allows me to play mom to my three kids, now in their teens.

We are what you would categorize a radical homeschooling family and have been around the homeschooling sphere for a long time
– 17 years, give or take.

I like sharing about our discoveries and our learnings to help our local homeschooling community informed about the many options, activities and possibilities.

I don’t only talk about our adventures, I also talk about the journeys of different homeschooling families, so you can head over to my podcast or YT channel if you want to hear and learn from other seasoned homeschooling families.

I run a podcast on homeschooling which you can listen to on Spotify here: The Homeschool Podcast

Or watch on YouTube here: The Homeschool Podcast on YT

My favorite part in all of these is connecting with other wives and moms all over the world. My passion isn’t only in the things I write about, but in being able to share about my relationship with Jesus and speak life to other women. My prayer is that whenever you read my blog, you will find hope and joy, as much as I have found joy in my calling as a wife and a mother.

Shoot me an email at maypalstories@gmail.com if you want to get in touch.

You can also find me on
Facebook and Instagram. And hey, I’m TikTok now, too!
I’m actually also on Threads and WhatsApp, but it’s too much socmed for me, so if you want to keep connected, the three oldies will do, haha!

See you around!

I’m May
